Firm Profile

For more than four decades Gardiner Knobloch, now known as GKL, has built great relationships with clients while providing quality accountancy services and relevant and reliable business advice.

With a team of 13 based in Napier, we offer a comprehensive range of accounting and business advisory services across our New Zealand client base.

Our commitment to excellence is evident in the quality of our team, who deliver outstanding client results.

A little bit of history…

Ewan Gardiner and Graeme Knobloch met when they were working at Watson Blampied and Partners, an accountancy firm with four branches dotted around the Hawke's Bay region - Graeme in Waipukurau and Ewan in Napier. When Mr Blampied retired, Graeme moved to Napier to help his colleague in the Napier office.

The pair withdrew from the Watson Blampied group and set up their own firm, Gardiner Knobloch, working from an office in Tennyson Street. They had a modest client base of local businesses but quickly expanded, moving to new premises in Shakespeare Road. Peter Gillies joined the practice in 1993 and became a Director in 2000. More recent appointments include Leon Collier as Director, and Lisa Hardie and David Steel as Associates, further adding to the wealth of experience leading Gardiner Knobloch Ltd. In January 2024 the firm moved to Ahuriri, Napier and rebranded as GKL.

Today, the firm's philosophy remains unchanged; that is to offer accountancy expertise and sound financial advice to grow their clients' businesses.
